As today's products become more and more complicated with integrated DC, RF, microwave, and even optical signals, engineers are expected to test them with higher throughput and lower cost. Connecting many sophisticated test instruments to multiple pins or devices is a chore in itself, and a switch matrix is indispensable in achieving these often-conflicting requirements. Understanding the Basics of Switching Systems aims to help engineers better understand the applications of switching in test and measurement. Topics of this 45-minute, web-based seminar include:
  • Most commonly used and important terminologies, specifications, and configurations of a switching system
  • Considerations when integrating a switch into a test system
  • Illustration of several application examples when using a switch in semiconductor, electronic component, and telecommunication product testing
