A History of Innovation
For well over half a century, Keithley has consistently led the industry in developing test and measurement solutions for emerging measurement needs. From its early days pioneering DC electrical measurement techniques for post-World War II lab researchers to today's solutions for advanced semiconductors, wireless, and nanotechnology applications, Keithley test instruments have built a worldwide reputation among engineers and scientists for advanced electrical measurement performance.
Early products were designed for government and university physicists and scientists, who came to depend on Keithley's unique expertise in ultra-low-level voltage and current measurement. In fact, Nobel Prize winners have relied on Keithley test instruments as important tools in their research. Most recently, the winners of the 2010 Nobel Prize in Physics used Keithley's Model 2182A Nanovoltmeter in their research on the field effect properties of graphene, a one-atom-layer crystalline carbon structure that can exist at room temperature and has unique physical, electrical, and chemical properties.
As the world's demand for semiconductors, cell phones, portable wireless devices, and consumer electronics continues to grow, the Keithley measurement portfolio has expanded beyond sensitive DC instruments to include pulse measurement techniques and AC test equipment. Its products today are used in settings far beyond the research lab, though that remains a core strength of Keithley products. Keithley measurement tools are as vital on the designer's bench as on the production floor for high-volume automated test applications. The ability of Keithley solutions to make even the most demanding, low-level measurements with precision enables Keithley customers to improve their products and processes and to accelerate their R&D and time-to-market cycles.
Today, Keithley products are sold in more than 80 countries around the world, garnering industry accolades for new test and measurement technologies, including numerous R&D 100 Awards, as well as honors from industry publications such as Semiconductor International, Solid State Technology, Electronic Products, Test & Measurement World, and Electronics Manufacturing Asia, among others.
Keithley products are built upon a foundation of close customer collaboration that leads to deep applications insight and understanding, leading to numerous breakthroughs in measurement technology. In 2010, Keithley Instruments joined Tektronix as part of its test and measurement portfolio. |
